Long-term variation of sea surface temperature in relation to sea level pressure and surface wind speed in southern Indian Ocean

چکیده

Sea surface temperature (SST) is an essential parameter associated with fish habitat and changes in oceanic conditions. Long-term SST variation relation to sea level pressure (SLP) wind speed (SWS) was observed based on the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) data of southern Indian Ocean. Mean monthly time series showed that February November were warmest coolest months, respectively. Spatial distribution 0°S–30°S warm 20°–30°C, which higher than at all other places throughout year. SLP (> 1010 millibar) SWS 12 m/s) high 20°S–40°S 45°S–50°S, strongly negatively correlated but positively SLP. yearly 2016 1948 years, respectively, during study period. Decadal 1978–1987 had highest decadal change. anomalies almost negative before 1970, positive after 2008, 2016. Southwest Ocean warmer southeast summer vice versa winter. 1948–2018 those 1948–1972 1973–2018 for 4 months.

Investigation of Long Term Trend of Spatio-Temporal changes of Sea Surface Temperature in Oman Sea

Considering the vast application of sea surface temperature in climatic and oceanic investigations, this parameter was studied in Oman Sea from 1986 to 2015. The SST was surveyed using trend analysis and Global and local Moran’s I spatial autocorrelation. In trend analysis, the Mann-Kendall test was used to determine the trend of SST changes and the Sen's Estimator method was used to examine th...

relationships between arab sea and indian ocean surface temperature anomalies with precipitation over southern of iran

iran is located in arid and semiarid areas based on continental divisions; any change in precipitation would have potential effects on agriculture, economic and other related issues in general. therefore, it is of high importance to know and identify the moisture-related sources needed to study the country’s precipitation data. for this purpose, it is important to correlate monthly precipitatio...

Impact of Indian Ocean Sea Surface Temperature on Developing

Prior to the 1976–77 climate shift (1950–76), sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies in the tropical Indian Ocean consisted of a basinwide warming during boreal fall of the developing phase of most El Niños, whereas after the shift (1977–99) they had an east–west asymmetry—a consequence of El Niño being associated with the Indian Ocean Dipole/Zonal mode. In this study, the possible impact of t...

Fronts in the Southern Indian Ocean as inferred from satellite sea surface temperature data

Sea surface temperature (SST) derived from the weekly measurements made by the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometers (AVHRR) of NOAA satellites was used to investigate the structure and space-time variability of large-scale fronts in the Southern Indian Ocean (30–60jS and 20–150jE) during the period of 1997–1999. Monthly SST gradient maps provided an overall view of five basic fronts: the N...

Boreal spring Southern Hemisphere Annular Mode, Indian Ocean sea surface temperature, and East Asian summer monsoon

[1] The relationships among the boreal spring Southern Hemisphere Annular Mode (SAM), the Indian Ocean (IO) sea surface temperature (SST), and East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) are examined statistically in this paper. The variability of boreal spring SAM is closely related to the IO SST. When the SAM is in its strong positive phase in boreal spring, with low-pressure anomalies over the south po...
